Impact Missions Home for Girls is a residential group home for abused, neglected and/or delinquent females ranging in age from 13-19. The typical stay at the Girls Home is anywhere from 6 months to a year, but can be longer.

The Home for Girls is overseen by a Christian married couple that live in the home with the girls. The couple helps fulfill a positive role of a mother and father figure. Their goal is to model a normal, healthy family life for all the residents.

We provide a Christian, family-based, long-term therapeutic environment for girls requiring extensive counseling, structure and guidance to help them deal with the pains of their past.

Admittance to the Shelter
Currently we provide shelter for up to 15 children from birth to 18 years of age. Children can be granted shelter through the Department of Human Services (DHS) after being romoved from homes under investigation for abuse and/or neglect.

The Process
Upon arrival to the Shelter, a child's social worker will complete an intake packet with a questionnaire which helps the House Parent get a basic understanding of the child's background, possible behavioral problems, health conditions, allergies and interests of the child.

After the paperwork is completed, the social worker and House Parent will meet to discuss any additional needs of the child.

The children are then welcomed into the home by their House Parent with the love of Christ. Then, they are given a room and provided with any hygiene items they may need. Lastly, the children are nurtured with a fresh, hot meal. Every step we take at Impact Missions is to help the residents understand they are going to be well taken care of and supported at the shelter.

Our Dream...Our Future
The Funderburk family of North Mississippi donated many acres to Impact Missions providing us with a total of 20 acres of prime real estate in Southhaven, Mississippi to develop the new Sunrise Village, which will include a new Crisis Care Shelter and Boys and Girls Home.

Phase One: Includes the new Emergency Shelter and Home for Girls which cost $525,000 to construct and furnish. At the completion of this project, Impact Missions will be able to sell the current two facilities, eliminating debt and helping provide additional capital for additional homes.

Phase Two: Includes the Home for Boys and an additional Emergency Shelter to provide space for runaways or children awaiting crisis placement. The Home for Boys will be the only one of its kind available in North Mississippi.

Sunrise Village Future Dream Map

Every Child Deserves a Second Chance

Most of the children are too young to understand the circumstances of their lives. Children as young as infants are placed at the Impact Missions shelter. Stories range from a 3 year old who was found by police unclothed and wandering aimlessly through a trailer park for days; to middle school kids whose Mommy simply did not want them any longer; to the adolescent girl forced by her father into pornography. At Impact Missions, we believe that every child deserves a second chance and a bright future. Your help is needed to impact the lives of each child that comes through our doors.
